It's The Stuff of Dreams: American Airlines, American Eagle and American Airlines Vacations Launch South Florida Sweepstakes

Six Winners to Enjoy Vacation Getaways; Experience a 'Better Way to Get There'

Even residents of the balmy Sunshine State dream of perfect vacations, and American Airlines is helping them get there.

American, its regional affiliate American Eagle, and American Airlines Vacations are teaming up to offer South Florida residents a chance to win one of six vacation getaways -- complete with airfare and luxurious accommodations -- to fabulous destinations in the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.

During the American Airlines Vacations Getaway Sweepstakes, which runs during the next six weeks, one lucky winner will be selected in a random drawing about every 8 - 10 days to receive a vacation getaway for themselves and up to three companions. The destination prize changes each week and includes St. Kitts, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Curacao, the Bahamas and Cancun -- all served nonstop from Miami or Fort Lauderdale by American or American Eagle.

The sweepstakes is open to Florida residents age 18 years and older. To enter, simply visit http://www.aa.com/betterway through Jan. 4, 2008, and complete an official entry form. The first vacation getaway will be awarded Nov. 20, 2007.

"From South Florida, no one flies to more destinations in the Bahamas, Caribbean and Latin America than American and American Eagle," said Peter J. Dolara, American's Senior Vice President-Miami, Caribbean and Latin America. "This sweepstakes highlights a few of those destinations, and at the same time, underscores the importance we place on the leisure traveler in South Florida. We're determined to attract our fair share of the leisure market, and we're not going to be shy about letting customers know that we offer an array of product features that make American Airlines a better way to get there."

American and American Eagle have a strong history of service to the Bahamas, Caribbean and Latin America from South Florida, stretching back nearly two decades. On Dec. 13, that long-standing commitment to South Florida grows even deeper when American begins nonstop flights from Miami to Barranquilla, Colombia, and Santa Cruz, Bolivia. On the same date, American will also begin nonstop service from Fort Lauderdale to San Jose, Costa Rica, and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Domestic service will also grow on Dec. 13 as American begins Miami-Phoenix nonstop flights, while American Eagle starts nonstop service from Miami to Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla., and Savannah, Ga. With the addition of the new international and domestic routes, American and American Eagle will offer a total of 284 daily flights from Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

Convenient service from both major airports in South Florida is just one of the advantages that American and American Eagle offer travelers. In addition, customers also enjoy a list of amenities including the ability to check up to two pieces of luggage each 50 pounds or less for free at the ticket counter, as well as complimentary non-alcoholic beverages. Customers also have the opportunity to earn and redeem AAdvantage® miles. And enrollment in the AAdvantage program is free.

Along with a wide selection of destinations, a choice of airports, convenient flights, and complimentary amenities, customers on American and American Eagle in South Florida can also expect competitive, attractive fares.

"One of the things, among many, that makes travel on American and American Eagle a terrific value and a better way to get there, is that we offer customers affordable fares, making it easier for families and friends to get together and vacationers to get away without breaking the bank," said Dolara. "Leisure travelers can look to American for a combination of price, product and service that is simply unmatched in South Florida."
