First JFK-Las Vegas Flight Offers the Steak - as Well as the Sizzle
Passengers on American Airlines inaugural flight from JFK to Las Vegas today will enjoy some steak as well as some sizzle when they dine on baguettes and wraps provided by one of New York's more popular steakhouses, the Strip House, which just recently opened a restaurant in Las Vegas.
Coach passengers at the JFK departure gate will receive boxed meals featuring steak wraps, while First Class passengers will receive steak sandwiches on a baguette. All passengers will also receive a Strip House miniature 24-layer chocolate cake for dessert, which is renowned for its taste, richness and decadence.
"Las Vegas is a great addition to our growing list of nonstop destinations out of New York," said Chuck Imhof, American's Vice President of Passenger Sales - Greater New York. "We've said that we intend to be New York's favorite airline, and we'll do it with features like new flights and enhanced services. Linking New York and Las Vegas -- two high-energy cities that never sleep -- is another exciting step in that direction. "
Imhoff added that the steak promotion fits right in with American's New York "sizzle."
"Las Vegas and New York have are two of the greatest cities in the United States," said Penny Glazier, co-owner of the Strip House, "and we're delighted to team up with American Airlines in linking these two great locations where people can enjoy our Strip House restaurants, among other great attractions."
American launches nonstop service from JFK today, offering one daily flight in each direction. From JFK, the flight is scheduled to give customers plenty of time for a full day of work before heading off to Vegas for a full night of fun, while the return flight from Las Vegas will leave lots of time for a night of play before returning home.
The new service from JFK will also benefit American's international customers, as well as international travelers arriving on oneworld® Alliance airlines through easy connections. American is a founding member of oneworld.
