    AMR Prices Public Equity Offering

    AMR Corp. , the parent company of American Airlines, Inc. ("American"), announced the pricing of a public offering of 13 million newly issued shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $38.70 per share. AMR has granted the underwriters of the offering a 30-day option to purchase up to 1.95 million additional shares of AMR common stock solely to cover over- allotments, if any. AMR expects the issuance and delivery of the shares to occur on Jan. 26, 2007. The purpose of this offering is to further strengthen AMR's balance sheet. AMR intends to use the net proceeds of the offering for general corporate purposes, including, among other possible uses, the repayment or repurchase of short-term or long-term debt or leasing obligations, funding of employee pensions, the acquisition of aircraft by American and other capital expenditures.

    Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, Merrill Lynch & Co. and UBS Investment Bank are acting as underwriters for this offering.
