American Eagle Names Dave Campbell Senior Vice President - Technical Operations; Cathy Jacobs Vice President - People Department
American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines and a subsidiary of AMR Corporation , has named Dave Campbell to the position of Senior Vice President -- Technical Operations and Cathy Jacobs as Vice President -- People Department.
Campbell succeeds Stan Henderson, who announced his retirement last week. He assumes oversight for the Maintenance and Stores, Flight, and System Operations Control (SOC) organizations. Campbell was the Vice President -- Base Maintenance at American's Alliance Fort Worth and Kansas City bases.
"Dave is a talented and experienced leader with a distinguished career in the American Airlines Maintenance organization," said American Eagle CEO and President Peter Bowler. "I am confident Dave will be a strong leader of our flight, maintenance, and SOC organizations."
Campbell joined American Airlines in 1988, serving in a variety of roles with American, including: Aircraft Maintenance Technician, Supervisor of Aircraft Maintenance, Manager of Quality Assurance at Alliance and Director of Quality Assurance in Tulsa.
A graduate of Louisiana Tech University, Campbell holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and is in the process of completing an MBA degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. Campbell also maintains an Airframe-and-Powerplant (A&P) license.
Campbell will transition to American Eagle beginning May 14.
Jacobs assumes the position of Vice President -- People Department immediately and is responsible for all Human Resources and Employee Relations functions. She replaces Denise Lynn, who recently was named Vice President of Global Human Resources at American Airlines.
Jacobs joined American Eagle in 1997 as a crew scheduler. She also served as a crew scheduling supervisor, a crew scheduling department liaison to the Employee Relations and Flight Departments, and Counsel in Employee Relations. For the past two years, Jacobs was Vice President of Employee Relations, improving interactions with and negotiating agreements with The Air Line Pilots Association, Association of Flight Attendants and the Transport Workers Union.

Jacobs is a graduate of the University of North Texas. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the Duncanville Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of Leadership Southwest, a business leadership development program.
