American Airlines Welcomes BlackBerry to AAdvantage Program
If you can't do without your BlackBerry® smartphone and just have to have those American Airlines AAdvantage® miles, then now you can have the best of both worlds.
BlackBerry, the iconic telecommunications device that has become indispensable to millions, is now a participant in the AAdvantage program, the world's first and largest travel awards program. AAdvantage members can now earn 4,000 AAdvantage bonus miles when they purchase a new BlackBerry at an online store powered by Simplexity®, a leading online retailer of cell phones and wireless plans.
To receive the 4,000 AAdvantage miles, customers simply visit http://www.aa.com/blackberry, complete a qualifying purchase of a BlackBerry phone with a new or extended wireless plan, and provide their AAdvantage account number at checkout. The site, created by Simplexity, features a variety of BlackBerry phones and wireless plans from all major wireless carriers. AAdvantage bonus miles will be posted to qualifying members' accounts by Simplexity 8-10 weeks after activation of a wireless plan. That's 4,000 miles to put toward a dream trip to any one of hundreds of destinations around the world served by American, American Eagle, or more than 20 airlines that participate in the AAdvantage program -- all for purchasing a new BlackBerry, along with an approved new or extended wireless service contract.

Additionally, with American's recent launch of mobile broadband service on its transcontinental routes flown with Boeing 767-200 aircraft, many customers can use their Blackberry or other Web-enabled device to access the Internet inflight.

AAdvantage miles will be awarded for purchases made through the Cellular Miles store only within 8-10 weeks of activation. AAdvantage members are eligible to earn 4,000 miles for each purchase of a BlackBerry phone with a new standard post paid wireless service contract or a post paid wireless service contract extension. To be eligible, AAdvantage members must (1) maintain the wireless line of service activated through Simplexity for 12 weeks after the activation date, (2) not deactivate or downgrade the wireless plan originally signed up for through Simplexity, and (3) provide their AAdvantage membership number at the time of purchase. Family plans and shared plans constitute one rate plan, regardless of the number of phones ordered. Additional restrictions may apply.
