American Waives Rebooking Charge for Customers Experiencing Travel Challenges Because of Severe Weather
FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Due to severe weather projected for the Northeast tomorrow, American Airlines and American Eagle are suspending operations at a several airports in the region beginning tomorrow afternoon. American Airlines and American Eagle are suspending operations tomorrow, Nov. 7, in Philadelphia (PHL) at noon and at all New York-area airports by 3 p.m. Operations at these airports are expected to start up again the morning of Thursday, Nov. 8. American and American Eagle have canceled approximately 290 flights to, from and through these airports on Nov. 7 and 8. Additional delays and cancellations may occur as American resumes operations in New York and Philadelphia.
Options for our Customers
Customers whose tickets were issued no later than Nov. 6 and are scheduled to travel Nov. 7 or Nov. 8 on American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection flights to, from or through the airports listed below may change flights without penalty, have the ticket-reissue charge waived for one ticket change, and begin travel as late as Nov. 15 under American's current travel waiver.

To change travel dates, customers may contact American Reservations at 1-800-433-7300 within the U.S. or Canada. Customers calling from outside the U.S. or Canada are encouraged to check American's Worldwide Reservations Numbers page on AA.com. American has increased its reservations staff over the next few days to help with the expected increase in call volume. As a result, hold times may be longer than usual.
