Customers Can Enjoy Flavors From Local Wineries During the Month of April
New York-area customers traveling on American Airlines transcontinental flights -- such as New York to Los Angeles, Seattle or San Francisco -- will soon get a chance to enjoy the taste of homegrown grapes, as American Airlines is offering passengers in its First Class and Business Class cabins a pair of New York- produced wines throughout the month of April.
This April-only treat provides customers with a taste of local wines and celebrates American's commitment to be the preferred airline in the New York market. The special wines are the Salmon Run Cold Brook Riesling blend from the Finger Lakes region and The Bedell Cellars Merlot from Long Island.
"American Airlines is pleased to offer these local wines as a way of expressing our appreciation to our New York-area customers, as we continue to enhance the onboard experience for all our valued premium class customers," said Mary McKee, American's Managing Director of Onboard Products. "The April-only feature of New York wines is part of our effort to take our wine program to a new level."
In the Salmon Run Cold Brook Riesling blend, customers will enjoy a fresh, crisp, fruit-forward wine with luscious aromas and flavors of green apple and citrus. This particular white wine from the vineyards of Dr. Konstantin Frank is delicious with appetizers, chicken, seafood and spicy Asian food.
The Bedell Cellars Merlot is a red wine featuring dark, berry fruit flavors enhanced by a refined lean texture that is silky smooth in the mouth. It pairs perfectly with most dishes -- fowl, pasta, beef and lamb.
American Airlines takes pride in providing premium-class passengers with a variety of wine selections. American, which maintains 15 different wine lists specially selected for various routes, adjusts its wine list regularly and produces an online pamphlet describing in detail each route's selections.
