American Airlines today announced that Marie K. Jary has been named Regional Sales Director, Midwest Region. Jary, who has worked for American Airlines for more than 30 years, will direct passenger sales, sales promotion, and marketing in a four-state region. She will also be responsible for American's corporate citizenship and community relations initiatives at its Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.
"We are very pleased that Marie has agreed to lead our Sales operation in St. Louis and the surrounding states," said Tom Aichele, American's Vice President - Passenger Sales, Central Division. "Marie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new position, and she will become actively involved in the community in St. Louis where she will be based."
Jary began her career at American in Corporate Finance in its New York office and moved to the new corporate headquarters in Dallas-Fort Worth in 1979. She has worked in Freight Marketing for American's Cargo Division, in Information Systems, in the Controller's Department, in International Budgets & Costs, and International Sales and Marketing.
In 1989, Jary was selected to become Country Manager for American's then-new Australian service, based in Sydney. In 1992, she returned to the United States as Manager, Regional Passenger Sales - Texas and later became a Global Account Manager. In 1999, she became Director - Global Account Sales.
Jary received a degree in Business Administration from The City College of New York and attended the University of Texas at Arlington. She also has Certified Travel Counselor accreditation.
