American Airlines Helps New Yorkers Beat the Summer Sun

American Airlines is helping beachgoers catch a break from the hot sun over the next two weekends by distributing large beach umbrellas at several of New York's and Long Island's most popular beaches in partnership with local radio stations.

"Whether in the air or on the ground, we want to help our customers enjoy their summer vacations," said Chuck Imhof, Vice President - Passenger Sales for Greater New York for American Airlines. American Airlines has served New York for 80 years, and we want to enable our citizens and visitors here to enjoy the city to the fullest, including the essential summer trips to the beach!"

American Airlines teams will be on the beaches handing out the umbrellas. The schedules, locations and radio stations are as follows:

-- Saturday, July 21  
WADO at Coney Island, 12 p.m. - 2 p.m.    
WRCN at Cupsogue Beach, Westhampton, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. 

-- Sunday, July 22    
WCAA La Kalle at Orchard Beach, 12 p.m. - 2 p.m.    
KJOY at Jones Beach Parking Lot 4, 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. 

-- Saturday, July 28    
WADO at Rockaway Park (between 96th and 116th Streets),  12 p.m. - 2 p.m. 

-- Sunday, July 29    
WCAA La Kalle at Orchard Beach, 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
