American Airlines Employees Achieve Fifth Consecutive Customer Experience Rewards Payout

American Rewards Employees with $11.3 Million for Surpassing Its First Quarter Customer Service Goals

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- For the fifth consecutive quarter, American Airlines Customer Experience Rewards (a part of American's Annual Incentive Plan) has paid out to employees. Tomorrow, American Airlines will award $11.3 million to approximately 74,000 frontline employees for achieving customer satisfaction goals in the first quarter 2010.

American employees are making great strides to deliver on the customer experience plan. In 2009, American paid out more than $45 million in Customer Experience Rewards. The incentive plan rewards employees with up to $100 per month for meeting or exceeding customer-satisfaction and on-time performance goals. Delivering improved customer service and dependability supports American's FlightPlan 2020 tenet, "Earn Customer Loyalty."

"With each successive quarter of rewarding our employees for achieving positive customer satisfaction results our customers are receiving an ever improving travel experience," said Bob Reding, American's Executive Vice President – Operations. "The American Airlines team understands that when we deliver a great customer experience and earn our customers' loyalty, they will see direct financial dividends."
