American Airlines Celebrates 65 Years of Service to Mexico

American Airlines today is celebrating 65 years of service and commitment to Mexico.

"Since we began serving Mexico in 1942, American Airlines has been a strong contributor to the country's economy," said Peter Dolara, American Airlines Senior Vice President - Miami, Caribbean and Latin America. "Now, 65 years later, our bond is stronger and deeper than ever, and we look forward to many more years of service."

American Airlines and its regional affiliate, American Eagle, jointly offer more than 360 weekly flights from Mexico to the United States and serve 14 Mexican cities from five of their biggest hubs. From Chicago, travelers can fly to Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos; from Dallas/Fort Worth, they can fly to Acapulco, Aguascalientes, Cancun, Chihuahua, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Los Cabos, Leon, Mexico City, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, San Luis Potosi and Torreon; from Los Angeles they can fly to Los Cabos; from Miami they can fly to Cancun, Mexico City and Cozumel; and from New York, they can fly to Cancun and Los Cabos.

American Airlines customers enjoy many additional amenities including the ability to check up to two pieces of luggage of 50 pounds or less each at no additional cost, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, and food on many flights. Customers on American and American Eagle also have the opportunity to earn and redeem AAdvantage® miles.
