American Airlines and PLUNA Announce Codeshare Agreement

American Airlines and PLUNA, Uruguays flag carrier, have agreed on a codeshare agreement

Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay – American Airlines and PLUNA, Uruguay’s flag carrier, have agreed on a codeshare agreement to place PLUNA’s PU code on American’s nonstop Montevideo-Miami flights as soon as all government approvals are received.

From its Miami hub, American and American Eagle offer more than 300 daily flights to more than 100 destinations in the U.S., Europe, Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America.

“We are delighted to launch this alliance with PLUNA and offer its customers more travel choices through American’s Miami hub,” said Peter Dolara, Senior Vice President – Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America.
