Domestic Network
American's domestic network is one of our greatest strengths. Our objective is to be the best positioned airline in those markets that matter most to our customers and that complement the strength of our partner airlines in oneworld and our joint business partners. Our focus is on partnering with high-quality airlines with complementary networks to offer the destinations and schedule of service that our customer's value.
  • Our network is focused around high-value flyers and designed to provide the schedule of service needed by our customers to the largest cities for commerce, tourism, and to international gateways to the rest of the world. We have a global economy, so American recognizes that you need to be able to move customers from one part of the world to another as efficiently and quickly as possible.
  • Therefore, we have focused our domestic network around five cornerstone markets. New York, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Los Angeles are the four largest U.S. population centers, and we have a strong network into those cities from many parts of the country. We've also focused operations in Miami, which is uniquely the gateway from North America to Central and South America.
  • Our domestic network is not only built to serve the needs of our customers traveling domestically, but to complement the networks of our partners in oneworld, to extend our international network and ensure it is one of the strongest in the world for high-value customers.
