Flagship Check-In Fact Sheet
 
Flagship Check-in offers customers an exclusive check-in area designed to further differentiate and customize the travel experience for American’s best customers.  American launched the product in Nov. 2011 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and opened a second location at Miami International Airport (MIA) in early 2012.  The airline is currently working to expand Flagship Check-in service to additional airports.

Customers can enjoy an exclusive entrance leading to a separate check-in facility with stations staffed by customer service representatives who can personally assist with individual travel requirements, including check-in and baggage check, seat or itinerary changes and connecting flight information. Agents at Flagship Check-in are trained to provide personalized service to ensure an efficient and consistent travel experience.

American’s Flagship Check-in service is located at:
  • Miami International Airport (MIA) has designated Flagship Check-in signage in Concourse D of the North Terminal and is available 4 a.m. – 11 p.m. daily.

  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has a curbside entrance, exclusive to Flagship Check-in customers, in Terminal 4 in the east lobby and is available 4 a.m. – 1 a.m. daily.
Upon entering Flagship Check-in, the décor is contemporary and refined. Both facilities offer two check-in podiums and two self check-in kiosks. Customers also receive immediate access to a separate security line, which offers easy access through security checkpoints and an expedited airport experience.

Access Policy
Recognizing that its best customers have unique preferences and expectations, American has designed Flagship Check-in to offer an exclusive, discreet and expedited check-in experience that meets these specific needs and desires. The following premium customers are eligible for Flagship Check-in:
  • ConciergeKey℠ members.

  • Customers of American’s Five Star Service – a personal one-on-one airport assistance program provided on the day of travel.

  • First Class customers traveling onboard an American Airlines three-class transcontinental aircraft flying between MIA and LAX, and from LAX to JFK.

  • First Class customers traveling onboard an American or select* oneworld® Alliance international aircraft anywhere in their outbound itinerary.
*Eligible oneworld® Alliance carriers include British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines and Qantas.  These carriers offer an international First Class service.  International First Class service is defined as First Class service onboard a three-class (i.e. First, Business and Main Cabin) or four-class (i.e. First, Business, Premium Economy and Main Cabin) aircraft.
