National Veterans Day
American, volunteers honor those who serve

American and its employees honor the U.S. Armed Forces this Veterans Day as they do every day: by committing support for them and their families through a variety of initiatives that work to make a difference in their lives. With deep respect and appreciation, we thank our military and their families for their dedication and sacrifice by serving them as they serve our country.

American is honoring military service members and veterans throughout November through these systemwide events:

Get more miles for your donation: From Nov. 1-15, donate funds to the USO through American’s Miles in Support of All Who Serve campaign and receive 15 miles per dollar (instead of 10), with a minimum $25 donation.
Donate miles:  Donate to Miles for All Who Serve to help support military and veterans’ initiatives American provides support improve the quality of life for veterans, military service members and their families not only through the USO, but also to organizations such as Wounded Warriors, Honor Flights, the U.S. Marine Corp Scholarship Foundation and Snowball Express.
Salute to the Troops: On Nov. 7, 85 severely wounded veterans travel from Washington, D.C., Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda Naval Hospital to Las Vegas for a Veteran’s Day weekend celebration. Connect with veterans through social: We are encouraging American employees to (publicly) share their gratitude for veterans and their loved ones who have bravely served our nation. Today and every day, @AmericanAir says thank you.

Supporting those who serve
American Airlines Miles for All Who Serve program provides assistance to organizations that work to support veterans, military members and their families. The mile-donation program includes opportunities to help caregivers and first responders, as well as giving a strategic emphasis on helping children of service members. Miles in Support of All Who Serve is a cash-donation program that gives AAdvantage members miles in return of funds donated to the USO.

American is proud to be the first official airline for the USO, an organization that offers a variety of programs and services to lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families. The organization makes these programs available to as many eligible participants as possible, building awareness of these important tools to help in the recovery process when troops return home. The group’s mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform. Chartered by Congress, the intent of the USO is to represent the American people by extending a touch of home to the military.
