Since 1994, American has been the participating U.S. airline in UNICEF’s global Change for Good program. Over the past nearly 20 years, American flight attendants and Admirals Club employees known as Champions for Children have collected more than $10 million in unused currency and donations from customers to support UNICEF programs for children worldwide. Together with participating oneworld® alliance airlines and other airlines, more than $130 million has been raised through UNICEF’s global Change for Good program since the program began in 1987.
Getting involved is simple, and no donation is too small. On your next international flight with American, simply ask your flight attendant if a Champion for Children employee volunteer is on board or mention making a donation to support UNICEF. Champions for Children volunteer to collect donations during selected international flights with a clearly marked UNICEF collection pouch. The donation of your unused currency will go a long way toward strengthening UNICEF's mission to make a lasting difference in the lives of children around the world.
Members or visitors at American Airlines Admirals Club lounges and Flagship Lounge locations worldwide can also make donations via specially marked UNICEF Change for Good donation boxes. For Admirals Club airport locations and hours of operation, please visit aa.com/admiralsclub.
Change for Good on American Airlines is supported by the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA). Change for Good on American Airlines could not exist without the outstanding support of customers and Champions for Children volunteers.
