For the fifth year in a row, American Airlines customers and employees had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the world's most vulnerable children by participating in the October 2013 Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign
This iconic program is the U.S. Fund for UNICEF's longest-running volunteer movement and has engaged generations of grassroots supporters of UNICEF's mission to reduce the number of preventable childhood deaths to zero. Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF remains an inspiration to the young (and the young at heart) to provide for children in need around the globe.
American’s customers can support Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF via Change for Good on American Airlines through a variety of ways:
- Donations of foreign and domestic currency on select international flights were accepted by flight attendant volunteers known as "Champions for Children" and a Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF video was shown on-board American flights between Oct. 24 - 31, 2013.
- Donations of spare domestic and foreign currency were accepted in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF-themed donation collection boxes located in Admirals Club lounges and Flagship Lounges across American’s network from Oct. 1 - 31, 2013.
Thank you for joining us and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to make Halloween count through Change for Good on American Airlines. Donations continue to help UNICEF provide children with health care, clean water, nutrition, education, emergency relief and more.
The U.S. Fund for UNICEF is also supported under the American Airlines Kids in Need Program
