The Village is getting a shiny new mode of transportation. Give Kids The World Village (GKTW), in Kissimmee, Fla., is a nonprofit “storybook” resort, where children with life-threatening illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free fantasy vacations.
To assist in getting around this 70-acre Village, guests ride a “train.” And the Village needed a new train. A refurbished aircraft tow tractor, customized by the St. Louis Domestic Services Equipment Restoration Team with special paint and outfitting to resemble a small locomotive, will now shuttle families from their whimsical onsite villas to the Village’s many amenities
The Something mAAgic Foundation®’s
marquee event, mAAgicSM flight
(formerly known as WishFlight) sponsors children from around the world to fly to Florida for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. These children and their families stay at Give Kids The World Village while visiting local attractions.
Travel to the Village is provided through the American Airlines Miles For Kids In Need®
program. In addition to the million miles American donates each year, AAdvantage® members generously donate their unused miles and help American support some of the world’s foremost organizations dedicated to caring for children – like the Something mAAgic Foundation and Give Kids The World Village.
If you would like to join us and have unused miles you’d like to donate, we – and the kids – will certainly appreciate it.
