Celebrate Black History Month
Celebrate Black History Month and earn miles for your donation to UNCF!

Supporting kids and education is a mission for American Airlines Kids in Need. For more than 35 years now, our partnership with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) has helped to send more than 60,000 students to and through college each year.

During Black History Month, American is pleased to offer a special fundraising opportunity for donations to UNCF,  the nation's largest and most effective minority education organization. Through the end of February, American will reward your generosity with 10 miles for each dollar contributed to UNCF with a $25 minimum donation

UNCF's mission is to build a robust and nationally-recognized pipeline of under-represented students who, because of UNCF support, become highly-qualified college graduates and to ensure that their network of member institutions is a respected model of best practice in moving students to and through college.

To serve youth, the community and the nation, UNCF supports students' education and development through scholarships and other programs, strengthens its 37 member colleges and universities, and advocates for the importance of minority education and college readiness. UNCF institutions and other historically black colleges and universities are highly effective, awarding 20 percent of African American baccalaureate degrees.

To learn more about the difference UNCF makes, read Jefferson Lindor’s inspiring story in the February issue of American Way magazine.

You can also support UNCF next time you travel, or give the gift of travel.  With your purchase of an American Airlines UNCF co-branded gift card, American will donate $5 of every $50 spent to UNCF.

Our thanks goes to the 91 donors who donated $21,420 during this period. It is our pleasure to reward their generosity with more than 214,200 AAdvantage miles.
