As the first official airline in the 70-year history of the
USO, American Airlines has expanded its commitment in terms of in-kind as well as fundraising assistance to help the USO in its mission of lifting the spirits of troops and their families. American’s customers are invited to join in this effort to support our troops.
An easy way to contribute is by purchasing an
American Airlines Gift Card. When purchasers select the USO gift card option, American will donate $5 to the USO for every $50 of travel purchased. The gift card can be delivered to the recipient via e-mail, with a personal message included if desired. The American Airlines Gift Card is available in denominations from $50 to $1,500 and can be applied toward the purchase of any American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection carrier, or any
oneworld
® partner or codeshare flight published fare. Unlike many gift cards, there is no expiration date.
Another way to help is by supporting American’s Miles In Support of All Who Serve campaign to benefit the USO’s important mission for service men and women and their families. AAdvantage® members will receive 10 miles for every dollar donated. A minimum $25 donation could sponsor a USO Care Package (which includes requested items such as prepaid international phone cards, snacks, entertainment and travel-size toiletries), mobile USO centers to support troops far from any other type of assistance, free phone calls home to loved ones, and entertainment and education programs to help children deal with their loved ones being far from home.
