American Airlines Inc. | AAdvantage

The American Airlines Kids in NeedSM program is one of several initiatives American offers to assist kids in need. The program provides worldwide support for children and their families, as well as for organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with needs for medical, educational, social services issues and/or for those that heighten public awareness of children’s issues.

How Your Miles Can Help

Since 1989, AAdvantage members have generously donated miles to help kids in need. In addition to the millions of miles American donates annually, last year AAdvantage®members generously donated 127 million of their unused AAdvantage miles. These miles help hundreds of children’s organizations like Dana Farber, Something mAAgic Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and others. The miles have also been used to provide air transportation to 522 critically ill children, and their parents/guardians, in need of medical treatment.

If you can help us replenish some of these miles, we (and the kids) will really appreciate it. Please check your mileage balance and consider making a donation* today.

Through this worthy deed of donating miles, AAdvantage members play a major role in helping American support some of the world’s foremost organizations dedicated to caring for children. AAdvantage, the American Airlines travel awards program, was the first of its kind in the industry; developed 30 years ago, it is the largest today. The benefits of these miles have extended far beyond AAdvantage members with the inception of American Airlines Miles For Kids In Need program.

*Minimum donation of 1,000 miles required. Members who have an available balance of less than 1,000 miles may donate their entire balance. Your donation is not tax deductible. Processing can take up to 48 hours.
