I love skiing, although to be honest, I'm much better at the apres part. Park City is gorgeous at any time of year, but winter and its spectacular powder will always hold a special place in my heart.

There's really no hotel that compares. The funicular ride alone up to the hotel deserves its own entry on this itinerary. The bar and patio provide the perfect backdrop for cocktails overlooking Deer Valley skiers and snuggling with champagne. An amazingly intimate romantic getaway that feels light years away from Salt Lake -- but is just 45 minutes from the airport.

I don't care what else you order, but the butternut squash ravioli is a must. The duck, housemade potato chips, and espresso martini will also blow away your palate -- in a good way. Amid the crowded tourist traps on Main Street, this place is consistently wonderful

Gorgeous powder, courteous staff and patrons, and lots of fun runs make this a great place for every skier. The Never Ever package -- about a hundred bucks for rentals and a half-day of lessons -- is a great deal. PCMR also features lots of fun activities during summer, including ziplining!

Come during the day for the free tour -- even kids will love the behind-the-scenes look at the science behind their amazing whiskey. Come back at night for dinner (the coffee-glazed cod is outstanding) and speciality drinks. Skip the bigger dining room and head to the left to the smaller bar and library, both of which are much more intimate.

Even if the rest of Main Street is dead, this place will be rocking. The buffalo burger and turkey club are great, but what really gives this place its edge is its total lack of one. No pretention, no fancy drinks -- just locals and visitors hanging together over a beer and game of shuffleboard.

When I took this tour I was by myself, which admittedly increased the creepy factor exponentially. This tour is a fascinating (and even appropriate for older kids and teens) look into the history of Park City through the ghosts that haunt it.
