As fashion director of Bag Borrow or Steal (bagborroworsteal.com), the innovative online boutique where customers borrow, collect, and share authentic luxury fashion accessories, Tiffany Ullian is constantly on the prowl for the hippest handbags.
“My role is fashion guardian for the brand,” says Ullian, who stays plugged in to influential editors, bloggers, and, of course, fashion designers. “As soon as the runway shows take place, I sift through all of the looks to pull together trend stories for up-and-coming seasons,” she says. CL
spoke with Ullian about some hard-to-resist styles for winter.
“For a special occasion, such as New Year’s Eve, I definitely recommend the Alexander McQueen knuckle-duster clutch [bottom right]
for daring trendsetters. If classic chic is more your style, then a crystal-encrusted Judith Leiber clutch [bottom left]
is a must-have to add some sparkle for the holidays.”
“The number one handbag silhouette [top left]
this winter is the doctor bag. It was seen all over the runways, and every major designer has a version.”
“The Céline mini luggage tote [center]
is this year’s ‘It’ bag, and is a wardrobe staple. Bag Borrow or Steal has a variety of colors, including color-blocked versions.”
“Jewel-tone colors such as wine, plum, and emerald are favored this season, so make sure you include at least one of these colors in your wardrobe. The Prada Saffiano tote [top right]
in aubergine is a gorgeous shade of eggplant and is an amazingly versatile tote that takes you from the office to dinner.”
