Great public golf has never been New York City’s draw. But those willing to venture just 45 minutes from Manhattan can find a Pete Dye-designed gem at POUND RIDGE GOLF CLUB.

The only golf course in New York designed by Dye, arguably the most influential golf course architect of the last half-century, Pound Ridge blends genius design, modernity, and contemporary architecture in its 172 blissful acres.

Ken Wang, an M.I.T. graduate and brother of fashion designer Vera, commissioned Dye to design this Westchester County course in 2008.

Upon opening, it was named one of “Best New Public Courses” by Golf Digest and was ranked No. 1 U.S. Open-Worthy Public Course in 2012 by GOLF Magazine.

With a par of 72 and a slope of 146 from the back tees, Pound Ridge is a true “player’s course.”

Not staying in the city? The golf club has partnered with DELAMAR GREENWICH HARBOR hotel, one of the most elegant boutique hotels in the region.

The resort conjures an atmosphere of old-world charm and boasts a 500-foot private dock as well as the world-class l’escale Restaurant & Bar and The Spa at Delamar.
