The gourmet gurus at Marx Foods have opened the company’s first retail store, in Seattle’s Lower Queen Anne neighborhood. It’s stocked with more than 400 specialty items such as sauces, oils, sweets, and fresh meat, with samples aplenty to tempt your taste buds. (One irresistible treat you’ll want to take away: Fior Di Pistacchio, a delectable green cream made from Sicilian pistachios that’s good on anything from crackers to cakes to, heck, just a spoon.) And owner Justin Marx, our favorite culinary curator, raves about the goji berry and cacao nib-infused Chicaoji chipotle chile sauce, produced nearby on Washington’s Lopez Island.
