A vacation can be about a destination, a journey, or both. Hotels around the world are exploring this combination in the form of luxury car excursion programs.

At Hotel Arts Barcelona, the name of the game is variety. When guests sign up for the Vintage Car Excursions, they can explore the Spanish coastline in a one-of-a-kind vintage car, such as a Rolls-Royce or Jaguar, with models dating from the 1920s to 1980s. Once they choose their ritzy ride (complete with chauffeur), they can customize their experience within three categories. For art aficionados, the home of the late Salvador Dalí and La Sagrada Familia await. Romantically inclined couples can explore the seaside town of Llafranc and dance aboard a jazz cruise. Wine enthusiasts can treat their taste buds to Spanish cava in Catalan region vineyards. No matter which route you choose to embark upon, excursions include a fresh Mediterranean picnic lunch for two. Rates from $1,120 for a half-day trip.

Baglioni Hotels lets guests explore Italian scenery, fashion, art, and history from the vantage point of a Ferrari and stay at its grand properties in Italy. Three excursion options include a six-night tour of Rome, Florence, and Milan; a two-night tour in Rome featuring ancient castles; and a two-night tour in Milan featuring Lake Como. During the six-night tour, guests will travel from the Regina Hotel Baglioni in Rome to the Relais Santa Croce in Florence to the Carlton Hotel Baglioni in Milan. In between, they will explore the Tuscany countryside and the Ferrari Museum, among other sites. The two-night tours provide a relaxing weekend getaway while allowing guests to take in new vistas — and more fresh Italian food. Rates from $14,682 for six-night tour and from $5,606 for two-night tour.
