As I write this installment of my quarterly letter to you, dear readers, Miranda Lambert has just won multiple awards from the Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) and the Country Music Association Awards (CMA), and is currently on a huge tour aptly named On Fire — like her career at the moment, no doubt. The coolest thing is that as busy as she is, Miranda gave an unhurried, thoughtful interview for our cover story and has graciously offered to partner with Celebrated Living magazine on a ticket giveaway. See page 42 for the feature story and more details, and be sure to visit celebratedliving.com/promotions
for your chance to win a Miranda Lambert concert package!
What are some of your favorite summer concert memories? We continue with a music theme in several places this issue: where to eat, sleep, shop, and listen in Nashville; a comprehensive 10-page music roundup called “Summer Play List” (penned by two music fanatics, James Mayfield and Jennifer Robertson Norris); and a back-page profile on the iconic Jimmy Buffett, who is quite the entrepreneur and certainly responsible for hundreds of incredibly fun, light-hearted summertime concerts.
Another important part of this summer issue is our always-popular, highly anticipated annual Readers’ Choice Platinum List results — the culmination of thousands of Celebrated Living readers (truly experts in travel!) weighing in on the best hotels, golf courses, spas, and cruise lines the world has to offer. The lucky Grand Prize winner received a Land Rover Driving School Adventure at the gorgeous Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina, plus 500,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles just for voting for her favorites. Five others won 100,000 miles each. How many of the places listed have you been to … or want to be able to say you’ve been to?
As you would likely expect of CL’s editor, I’ve visited many on the list. I recently made my first visit to the lush island of Kauai and was awestruck by the natural beauty, the geographic diversity, and the multitude of activities and adventures available. Pictures of the incredibly steep green cliffs along the Na Pali Coast don’t even do them justice; see it all up close for yourself from a catamaran or on a challenging hike (this part of the island is inaccessible by road and you will soon realize why). One suggestion for a dreamy week (or more!) discovering Kauai on your own: Start near one end of the island and stay a few nights at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa, then discover the other side of the island via the luxurious St. Regis Princeville Resort — both in the Top 10 Hawaii Hotels on the Platinum List.
Please take this issue of Celebrated Living with you, congratulate the staffs of the winning hotels, golf courses, spas, and cruise lines you visit in the near future, and enjoy your summer!
