Here’s hoping your 2012 has been good so far. With this spring issue of Celebrated Living magazine, we help you say goodbye to the possible over-indulgence and excess of the holidays, and hello to health, fitness, and well-being.

Spring tends to be a wake-up call for all of us — to get moving, to remember to play, and to make fitness fun again. I did just that recently in the sunny Caribbean onboard Windstar Cruises’ Wind Surf, a beautiful sailing yacht that encourages activity. With a water-sports marina on the back of the ship boasting great toys like windsurfers, kayaks, and sailboats; high-energy excursions like river tubing and rainforest canopy adventures; and a different island to discover nearly every day, it was easy to stay in high gear.

Some of the highlights for me (remember, I’m a travel magazine editor, so touring luxury hotels and resorts quickens my pulse!): the Mediterranean-style resort community of Porto Cupecoy in St. Maarten, complete with its own shopping and dining village, plus a 54-slip marina that can accommodate megayachts up to 250 feet in length; the charming hillside Le Plein Soleil hotel in well-manicured Martinique, as well as the beachfront Cap Est Lagoon Resort and Spa (a Relais & Châteaux property) and the 18th-century Habitation Clément, a lovely plantation and former distillery with exquisite luxury rums; on St. Lucia, The BodyHoliday wellness resort, the classic Caribbean resort Anse Chastanet, and I finally saw with my own eyes the impossibly cool multilevel Jade Mountain hideaway, where an amazing private infinity pool winds through each suite and the gloriously absent fourth wall serves as an open-air picture window looking out to the majestic twin Piton mountains.

Flip through the pages of this magazine and you’ll benefit from dozens of ideas that will make you want to get up and go this year. Plenty of extras await online as well. Associate art director Eva Wojnar discovered so many excellent images when working on her gorgeous layout of “Nature in Focus” that we’ve created a bonus slideshow at celebratedliving.com/webexclusives. While there, you can also see movie trailers of the very fit Jason Statham’s recent projects (the handsome star on our cover, as if you hadn’t noticed). And to complement the fun story we call “Ultimate Kids’ Experiences,” go to celebratedliving.com/promotions for a chance to win a two-week School of Rock camp. Don’t miss the compelling story on happiness, as well as the online link to a scientific survey that helps you measure your own personal joy.

To borrow a line from our “Have Some Fun” adventure roundup, it’s a playground out there.

All you have to do is get up and go.
