FORTUNE AND FANTASIES

Coming out early next month, Ocean’s Eleven follows Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and his plans for a casino heist with his crew of 11 specialists. To complicate matters, the casinos are owned by a man who is dating Ocean’s ex-wife (Julia Roberts). A remake of the 1960 film of the same name, this highly anticipated movie is directed by Steven Soderbergh (Traffic). With an all-star cast that also includes Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, and the clout of Soderbergh’s Oscar wins last March, let’s just say that this movie is not to be missed.

A holiday movie that will delight parents and kids alike, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s popular children’s series, begins as Harry learns he is the orphaned child of two wizards and possesses magical powers of his own. The characters seem so real that after leaving the theater, you will find yourself watching your kids to see if they can make brooms fly.
