Molding machines making LEGO bricks

LEGO is a combination of the Danish words LEg GOdt, which mean “play well.”

Kenney’s favorite LEGO piece: the 1×1 headlight brick, which can be used in three ways.

The classic LEGO piece as we know it, with the “stub-and-tube coupling system,” was patented in 1958. Since then, more than 600 billion LEGO bricks have been produced.

LEGO produces roughly 2.5 million elements every hour and 42,000 every minute.
