SAN FRANCISCO REUNION

They haven’t reinvented the wheel, but they have reshaped the square. San Francisco’s Union Square, the city’s famous commercial center, has been redone from side to side, top to bottom, with a new central plaza, cafe, and terraced lawns leading to Geary Street. The entire square has been paved in tan-and-green granite, and an open stage that’s large enough for an orchestra has been added. www.landispr.com
