It takes a special eatery to make its mark on San Francisco, a city hailed as a food-and-drink haven. Thankfully, the newly renovated bar and restaurant opening this month in downtown’s Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco does just that. Tucked away on the fifth floor of the luxury property, MKT captures the city’s pioneer spirit with a menu of steaks and inventive tapas-style plates, including its signature dish: a soft-scrambled egg topped with Fort Bragg uni and paired with chive brioche crisps. The establishment also draws inspiration from San Francisco’s publishing past with dark oak floors and walls papered with recycled newsprint. But perhaps most impressive is its exciting list of avant-garde cocktails. One to try with friends: the Back to the Bank Exchange, a blend of Campo de Encanto Pisco, hum liqueur, pineapple juice and gum syrup, mixed with a dash of lime and served in a retro punch bowl.
