CRIME BITES
Stealing time is what summer’s all about, and in this month’s releases, it’s all about stolen moments — whether it’s one last big blowout or the re-reappearance of nightmare-inspiring creatures from long, long ago. Steal off to a movie theater near you.

The Score is a Frank Oz (In & Out) film starring Robert De Niro, Edward Norton, Angela Bassett, and Marlon Brando. De Niro is a thief on the verge of retirement who puts his motto, “always work alone,” to the test when he must take on an accomplice to pull off his career-ending heist. Although billed as a crime story, look for moments of levity in an otherwise-serious script.

Jurassic Park III finds the return of Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) on an aerial tour of Isla Sorna with a wealthy gentleman and his wife, played by William H. Macy and Téa Leoni. As can be expected, the group actually ends up on the island, and the film follows their attempts to escape. While the plot is not extraordinarily original, who can resist the temptation to ogle at the magnificent creatures one more time? Besides, Spielberg is executive producer and that alone will make this a sure blockbuster.
