Jaw-dropping Pacific Ocean views have been a staple at San Francisco’s legendary Cliff House since 1863. Now, thanks to a $19 million makeover, the inside of this Golden Gate National Recreation Area landmark is easy on the eyes as well. Renovations to the existing 1909 structure perched high above Seal Rock include the addition of the two-story Sutro Wing and restaurant — a stunning modernist dining room featuring exposed steel beams (designed to recall the ceiling of the historic Sutro Baths) and chef Patrick Clark’s sublime seafood — as well as the new Cliff House Bistro, an art deco-inspired eatery flush with original tile work and some 200 autographed Hollywood glamour shots. 1090 Point Lobos Ave., (415) 386-3330, www.cliffhouse.com
