West 14th Street in New York’s Meatpacking District has become a destination for luxury shopping, with bold-faced fashion names like Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson, Moschino and Diane von Furstenberg lining the well-heeled block between Ninth and 10th avenues. Now, Lilla P is joining their stylish ranks. The relatively unknown brand has, since its debut over a decade ago as a T-shirt company, quietly amassed a following for its basics-with-a-twist women’s collections at attractive prices (everything is under $200). “We appeal to both fashion-oriented and classic women,” explains owner and creative director Pauline Nakios. “Both are looking for quality clothing with go-anywhere, always-appropriate styling.” The intimate shop is stocked with best-sellers like the Origami wrap (which can be worn 13 ways, instructions included) and other casual yet tailored cotton tops, skirts, dresses and jackets that can transition from day to evening — and that travel very well. 420 W. 14th St., (212) 242-7471, www.lillap.com
