Also, catch NBC’s one-hour documentary celebrating Roots’ 25th anniversary, which airs at 8 p.m. ET on January 18. An appropriate kickoff to the King holiday weekend, Roots — Celebrating 25 Years offers more than 65 interviews of people sharing their memories of the miniseries, as well as interviews with members of the original cast including Ed Asner, Leslie Uggams, and Dr. Maya Angelou.
