Deborah Lippmann describes herself as a girl from Scottsdale, Ariz., who moved to New York to be a jazz singer. While she instead became known as the go-to manicurist for celebrities (with clients from Kate Winslet to Lady Gaga), her voice ultimately led to the opening of her first namesake salon at Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa. Lippmann sang “Amazing Grace” at the International Spa Association’s conference in Orlando, Fla., last year, struck up a conversation with Miraval CEO Michael Tompkins and, after a couple of visits to the Tucson, Ariz., luxury property, the deal was sealed.

Guests can choose from a menu of three manicures and four pedicures, which include Argan oil and anti-aging options, designed by Lippmann. Each begins with her signature nail- and skin-health assessment and ends with an application of one of her renowned namesake polishes that, she proudly notes, are free of formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phthalate. Some treatments incorporate additional products by the organic luxury beauty company Red Flower, and all take place in the resort’s 350-square-foot salon that boasts panoramic views of the Catalina Mountains. Prices range from $75 to $140,
