How to get started: From the Star Ferry, take Bus 15 (The Peak) to the Peak Tram terminus.
Description: This gently sloping hike curls through the shadow of Victoria Peak, a stunning mountain overlooking Pok Fu Lam Valley. Along the way, you'll get a good look at Hong Kong's signature skyline, even though you'll feel like you're worlds away.

Hike: Dragon's Back

How to get started: Take the Central MTR (Metro Transit Rail) to Shau Kei Wan (Exit A3) and transfer to Bus 9 (Shek O). Ask the bus driver to let you off at the Country Parks information board for Dragon's Back, just prior to Windy Gap.
Description: Named for the snaking ridge that defines it, Dragon's Back offers breathtaking views of mountains and sea. The moderate uphill grade through wind-tamed grass and bamboo might also take your breath away.

How to get started: From bus stops on Con­naught Road, take Bus 6 (Stanley) or Bus 61 (Repulse Bay) to Wong Nai Chung Gap, then follow the road to Parkview Mansions.
Description: This wooded trail starts downhill through the island's largest valley, then winds along the edge of three beautiful man-made bodies of water known as the Tai Tam Reservoirs.
