Jimmy Fallon eats his way across the USA.
Jimmy Fallon loves traveling — and eating. Prior to taking over The Tonight Show, he went on a tour of NBC affiliates to thank them for their support. To spice things up, he had his team research mom-and-pop places to eat along the way, saying, “I felt like Guy Fieri on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
Jimmy reveals to American Way some of his favorite eateries from his nationwide trek, so you can eat like him too:
623 E. Adams St., Phoenix
“The best pizza in the country.”
22 SW 3rd Ave., Portland, Ore.
“Has insane doughnuts — I mean insanity. They have a regular donut dipped in chocolate, then dipped in Rice Krispies. There’s a maple [-frosted doughnut] with pieces of bacon.”
Sokolowski’s University Inn
1201 University Road, Cleveland
“We had pierogies. This place was off the charts.”
Multiple locations in Pittsburgh
“You have to go there. They put french fries in the sandwich and then squash it down.”
Mr. Beef on Orleans
666 N. Orleans St., Chicago
“A weird one here. We walk in, and the whole place is pictures of Jay Leno. I was like, ‘Does Jay Leno own this place?’ Turns out Jay was a regular during his days doing stand-up.”
