The InterContinental Hotels Group is launching a newly minted brand designed to help maintain your health-conscious lifestyle while traveling. Launching in Norwalk, Conn., and Rockville, Md., this spring, EVEN HOTELS focus on four key areas of living: eating well, resting easy, keeping active and accomplishing more. By offering a 1,200-square-foot-plus gym (with high-end Woodway treadmills, Cybex ellipticals and TRX suspension trainers), staff-led classes and complimentary purified water with fresh fruit, the hotel makes it convenient for fitness to be a part of your stay. And guest rooms forgo traditional credenzas and dressers in favor of stand-up workstations, rolling desks and an in-room workout area complete with a fitness ball, a yoga mat and resistance bands. The in-room sensory experience includes EO organic bath products and antibacterial wipes, natural eucalyptus-fiber sheets, blackout shades and LED mood lighting — all of which make this value-oriented stay feel luxe. Keeping trend with the health-conscious amenities, the culinary offerings include smart dishes and snacks (egg quinoa wraps for breakfast, kale salads and flatbreads for dinner) and cocktails made with fresh herbs grown on-site. It’s a little like staying in a wellness resort, without the resort price tag. Two more hotels in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn, N.Y., are slated for arrival in the middle of next year.
