Sure you can stay in the Hotel de Russie, where George Clooney stayed while filming Ocean’s Twelve in Rome. But for a real treat, book the Picasso Suite, where Clooney actually slept. You can park yourself right on the same couch Clooney did and veg out in front of the state-of-the-art TV, DVD, and sound system Clooney personally requested and got, courtesy of Philips Electronics. One of the highlights of the room is the Philips Ambilight TV (the first installed in any hotel in the world), which has lighting around the edge of the flat panel set that “bleeds” the dominant color on the screen out onto the surrounding wall; for instance, an ocean scene would glow blue, while a fire scene would glow orange. At roughly $3,000 per night, the accommodation doesn’t come cheap, but hey, how often can you say you and George Clooney hung out in the same suite?
