Every four years, a select group of talented young pianists descends upon Fort Worth, Texas, with dreams of winning the top prize — and forever changing their lives — in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the esteemed competition, and as such, on Sept. 28, PBS is airing The Cliburn: 50 Years of Gold, a documentary by Emmy Award–winning producer/director Peter Rosen that explores the esteemed event’s history through the recollections of 15 of its gold medalists. A book commemorating the competition will be released next spring. www.cliburn.org
