Taking to the SkiesAmerican Airlines is proud to have collaborated with Disney on Disney’s Planes, which includes an appearance by Tripp, a character inspired in part by American’s Boeing 777-300ER, the newest addition to the airline’s fleet. Like his real-life counterparts, Tripp bears American’s newly developed flight symbol and stripes on his tail. By teaming up with the family-friendly, iconic Disney brand, American — the film’s sole U.S. airline partner — is giving customers another avenue to connect with their children, whom they are often away from while traveling.
To celebrate the partnership, American is airing a new animated commercial (directed by Disney’s Planes director Klay Hall) that features Tripp and other characters from the movie and highlights American’s modern new fleet.
American Airlines customers can also visit aa.com/disneyplanes to enter American’s Sky Inspired Sweepstakes, where they can explore the sky as one of five characters from the film. By flying over hidden hot spots, customers reveal interactive content representing the American and Disney brands. Once they’ve unlocked three hot spots, customers can enter for a chance to win a grand-prize trip for four around the world. Customers can check American’s Facebook and Twitter pages throughout the promotion to learn when exclusive, limited-time offers will be hidden in the sky.
Players’ flight paths will be converted into miles, and American will match up to 1 million AAdvantage miles in a donation to the American Airlines Kids in Need program. Customers can also donate their own miles to help kids in need.
