It used to be
that Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek
was the very height of haut monde
in Dallas. If you were coming to town and you wanted a good pampering, the Mansion, as it’s affectionately known, was the place to be. These days, you can’t throw a rock downtown without hitting a crane that’s erecting a new luxury high-rise hotel with on-site condos. But the Mansion, still Dallas’ only five-star and five-diamond hotel, remains consistently classy and refined.
This month, Mansion’s signature restaurant, aptly named the Mansion Restaurant, celebrates its 30th birthday. And the food has never been better. Chef Bruno Davaillon’s culinary creations give any swank eatery in Dallas — or, for that matter, the world over — a serious run for its money (money
being the key word here, as you’ll need plenty of it at both the hotel and the restaurant). Make sure you start your meal with the signature tortilla soup — a staple for the last 30 years — and try Chef Davaillon’s award-winning rack of lamb. 2821 Turtle Creek Blvd., (214) 559-2100, www.mansiononturtlecreek.com
