You may drink to forget, but remember this: According to a recent study by the Reason Foundation, moderate alcohol usage, especially when you’re tipping a glass with your office buds, can actually boost your career.

Male imbibers earned 10 percent more than male nondrinkers, and female tipplers brought in 14 percent more than their teetotaling peers.

Men who claimed to visit a bar at least once a month reported earnings that were 7 percent higher than men who didn’t. Women, incidentally, didn’t report a similar gain.

As always, though, moderation is key. Researchers also found that any booze-related salary advantage vanished if drinkers had 35 or more drinks per week. Uh, yeah.
