Age is power on the film-festival circuit. Turning 40, The Chicago International Film Festival aims to illustrate just where (and how cool) it’s been, featuring past directors like Patrice Chéreau and István Szabó. They and others have been invited back as part of “Four Decades of Discovery,” a showing of 10 prior award-winners, in addition to its 90-plus new feature films and 40 shorts hailing from 40 countries.
