LISTEN AND LEARN

Some go to Austin for history. Others go for music. Now the city’s Texas State History Museum plays to both with Country Music From the Lone Star state, on view through January 5. Bob Wills, Roy Orbison, Flaco Jimenez, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, and, of course, the Dixie Chicks headline the artifact- and footage-driven exhibit. In lieu of live concerts, catch the daily one-man show on the life of Bob “The King of Western Swing” Wills in the museum’s theater. (866) 369-7108, www.thestoryoftexas.com
